DID Numbers for Call Centers
Connectivity King provides local and toll-free DID numbers for inbound lines and outbound caller ID, on the same network as our SIP trunks. Outbound calls from our DIDs carry A-level STIR/SHAKEN attestation, and you can port in the numbers your customers already know. Consider it your royal registry of numbers, kept in good order.
What are DID numbers?
For a call center, DID numbers are the phone numbers your whole operation runs on. They ring your inbound groups, queues and IVRs over SIP. They’re the caller IDs your outbound campaigns present, and the numbers customers call back. Because ours run on the same Tier-1 network as our SIP trunks and hosted Vicidial dialer, numbers, routes and call authentication all sit with one provider.
Local or toll-free: which do you need?
- Local numbers suit callback lines, campaign and client lines, and outbound caller IDs tied to where your business operates.
- Toll-free numbers suit inbound sales and support lines that customers anywhere in the US should be able to reach easily.
Most call centers use both. Availability varies by area code, so send us the areas, number types and quantities you need, and we’ll confirm what we can provide.
Can each campaign or client have its own numbers?
Yes. Each DID can point to its own Vicidial inbound group, Asterisk/FreePBX inbound route, 3CX queue or IVR. That way every campaign, client program or language line lands in the right place, and your reports show where each call came from.
What happens when I move numbers to you?
We port numbers in from other carriers. A port usually needs:
- The list of numbers.
- The account details from your current carrier.
- A signed letter of authorization (LOA).
Keep your current service active until the port finishes, so calls keep flowing. We’ll confirm each number’s eligibility before you start.
What makes a good outbound caller ID?
A number you own or are authorized to use, that truthfully identifies your business or the client you call for, and that reaches you when someone calls back. Connectivity King DIDs work as caller ID right away. For a number from another provider, our support team confirms your authorization first. A-level attestation helps receiving carriers authenticate your calls. Reputation still depends on calling practices, which is why we offer caller-ID reputation monitoring. What are my compliance responsibilities?
Numbers are a tool, and how you use them is on you:
- Outbound campaigns must follow the TCPA, the Telemarketing Sales Rule, the National Do Not Call Registry and state telemarketing laws, including consent, opt-outs and calling hours.
- Telemarketers must transmit a caller ID that people can call back during business hours.
- Spoofing caller ID to defraud or cause harm is illegal under the Truth in Caller ID Act.
